ANU historians have significant international profiles within the historical profession and many make significant contributions to public debate and the formulation of public policy.

Research and study in history is conducted in various academic units of the University: in the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Asian Studies, Research School of Humanities, Research School of Social Sciences and the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies.
